~Brainchildart

well.... I could tell you all that I have been on some extravagant tour of the eastern hemisphere or that I went on a hiatus of sorts, but that would be lying.

It just so happens that life got in the way of anything involving art. I have had the longest streak of proverbial "artist's block" (since I graduated college in March) that even thinking about picking up a pencil or delving into the digital realm of Maya once again has felt like work. Frankly, I truly haven't made any time to devote to art and the happenings in my life have pushed me to neglect the very thing I am passionate about. I lost my website due to bad job situations, my backup hard drive crashed, and work/ looking for better work have had me so stressed out lately that I can't begin to imagine what would happen if I picked up a pencil again.
who knows... maybe I should just to see what twisted results I get.

Don't get me wrong, I have drawn here and there since graduation, but everything I've started I've not completed. A promised piece for my girlfriend hangs on my wall staring angrily back at me begging me to finish it, not to mention my girlfriend begging me to finish it as well....potential art pieces lay strewn about just waiting to be picked up where I left off...it saddens me.....I need to get back to where I used to draw / use my creativity for fun. I haven't done that in ages. I miss it dearly. I just haven't found/made the time.
Perhaps I'm uninspired, maybe its not really artist's block and its an extremely long continuation of that college "senior-itis" that everyone experiences pre and post graduation , or maybe its sheer laziness whatever the case may be, i need to get back to the way things were when art was fun......Any suggestions???

I realize Its been quite some time since I posted anything, and its for a good reason,

1) I am extremely busy with Print Portfolio Preparation which takes up every ounce of my time,

2) I don't think its right for any site to "partially own" any of my hard work.

3) I am in the process of creating my own website that I will OWN anyways,

4) Regardless of what DeviantArt may tell you, I find it very easy to "snag"
(ie; copy/save image as) any image from Deviant Art and don't want MY Artwork in the
hands of a plagiarist.

That being said, my artwork will no longer be posted here. I will however keep this account open in order to keep in touch with friends as well as keep them updated in the ways of brainchildart.

So sad that this has come about but I feel its for the better. As soon as my website is finished I'll inform you all with the link.

Wow! it seems like forever since I've been on devart or even submitted anything to this account! Well I have finally finished with the Spring quarter and am hoping my grades say I finished strong. I Finally get a 3 week break! YAY!!!
I have a few things I could submit but one in particular is going to have to wait until I complete My Demo Reel (which isn't that far away).
I will however submit a small Maya Fluid FX Project that I and a classmate collaborated on. It took alot of time to learn dynamics and its not really all that simple. There are a billion sliders to hit, a million attributes to tweak and thousands of crazy nuances that eventually make you go nuts. All in all it has been a rewarding learning experience and I can honestly say I have enjoyed it and hope to improve on it. Next quarter is gunna be nuts! I finally have portfolio prep which means I'm gonna be drawing my fingers down to the bone, English 2 which means alotta papers, and Adv. 3D Modeling, which I'm really looking forward to. But for right now I think I'll just try to relax and let these 3 weeks pass by as Slowwwly as possible....

Heyy....With a new quarter starting today I'm looking forward to crankin' out new works which in turn means I'll be busy but, with a lesser workload this quarter, I have more time to complete these said works. All the Better because I haven't posted much lately.....Anywhoo, check back from time to time to see new works....Bye 4 Now!

Well, this quarter was rocky as hell! And I sure am glad its over!!! In hindsight I shoulda taken it off! Only a week for break and it will go by quickly, then a whole new quarter...I hope things smooth out and go AOK next quarter. By the way, I have posted a few new items in the gallery, feel free to chem them out and comment. More news at 11...
